Transforming Imogen’s Living Room: A Stylish Revamp for a Busy Professional

Imogen, a Director Consultant in Tech based in Fetcham, Surrey, came to me with two big challenges: overwhelm and a lack of time. Her living room hadn’t been touched since they moved in, and it no longer matched the sleek, contemporary style of their recently renovated kitchen. The space was cluttered, awkwardly shaped, and felt disconnected from the rest of the home. To make things worse, her teenagers were avoiding the room altogether when friends came over—hardly the inviting family space she envisioned.

Imogen needed help turning this outdated, underused room into a stylish, functional area that felt cohesive with the rest of the house.

After careful planning, we transformed the room by adding a stud wall, creating a cosy music room behind it, and decluttering the space with bespoke storage. The fireplace, once bulky and unused, was replaced with a sleek, modern electric fire, bringing warmth and contemporary charm to the living room.

We finished with a bright pastel green and cottage-inspired wallpaper, giving the room a fresh, vibrant feel, while the music room embraced a calming deep blue.

Studio Shelley Interiors created a stylish, inviting living room and a cosy music room—now cohesive with the home, offering Imogen and her family a space they can truly enjoy without the stress.
